Overview

Nestled in the vibrant suburb of Zetland, FOMO is a cafe that brilliantly marries Indonesian flavors with familiar Western comforts, crafting an intriguing culinary bridge that invites exploration. Located on 58 O'Dea Avenue, this spot stands out not only for its thoughtful menu but also for its warm and relaxed atmosphere—a perfect refuge for anyone craving a unique dining experience without leaving Sydney's urban pulse.

FOMO’s culinary highlight is undeniably its Indonesian-inspired offerings. Signature dishes like Nasi Babi Guling Bali and Bubur Ayam showcase authentic taste profiles, well balanced and thoughtfully presented. The Nasi Babi Guling Bali, in particular, captures the essence of Balinese street food with tender spiced pork, perfectly complemented by a vibrant array of sides. Meanwhile, Bubur Ayam provides comforting, fragrant congee that feels like home with each spoonful. Notably, the Nasi Jinggu and Nasi Goreng come with traditional accompaniments such as tempeh and keropok, enhancing the layers of flavor that guests appreciate.

The menu isn’t limited to Indonesian dishes alone. The cafe bridges culinary worlds with all-day breakfast options like the Breakfast Quesadilla and the Breakfast Burger, which are hearty and made with fresh, quality ingredients. Sweetcorn fritters with smashed avocado and bacon lend a satisfying touch for those favoring a lighter yet indulgent meal. For those with a sweet tooth, the FOMO Pancake—served floppy with mixed fruits, hazelnut crumbs, and vanilla ice cream—is a standout, offering a delightful finish to any meal.

Beverage selections complement the food with a nod to freshness and creativity. Fresh juices such as the Fruitful Delight or Sweet Sensation mix local fruits and invigorating ingredients like ginger and mint, refreshing both the palate and the senses. Coffee lovers will find joy in expertly prepared cappuccinos and oat lattes, which have earned praise for their smoothness and balance.

The space itself supports the culinary experience with its Bali-inspired design and cozy setting. The ambiance strikes a balance: inviting and laid-back, ideal for casual meet-ups or solo unwinding. Customers frequently note the friendly and attentive service, which adds warmth to the atmosphere, making each visit feel personal and well cared for.

FOMO’s target audience spans from adventurous food enthusiasts keen to explore Southeast Asian cuisine, to locals and visitors seeking a dependable cafe that offers both comfort and novelty. It appeals equally to breakfast lovers and lunch-goers with its flexible all-day menu—a welcome convenience that breaks conventional mealtime boundaries.

For anyone seeking a fusion of authentic Indonesian flavors and contemporary cafe culture in Zetland, FOMO delivers with charm and depth. Its blend of rich spices, thoughtful preparation, and welcoming space makes it a must-visit destination for those wanting to indulge in a fresh, diverse palette wrapped in genuine hospitality.

New-ish cafe that catered both Western and SEA cuisines. I like the fact that their brekky and lunch menu is available all day! Which means even during brekky time you can order lunch menu We were here to try their Indonesian menu of course. We had the Bubur Ayam, Nasi Goreng and their weekend special Nasi Babi Guling Balinese style. The last dish was our highlight though the other dishes were also delish! We'll be back to try their other dishes on the menu.

The city boasts a delightful fusion of Indonesian and Western flavours at its best cafe. Don't miss out on the amazing nasi jingo, a flavorful dish of yellow rice served with chicken and a side of spicy chili paste. Also, be sure to try the delicious bubur ayam, a comforting bowl of congee rice. These dishes are absolute must-tries!

The staff member was super friendly - I believe she also prepared our food. The Nasi Jinggu had a good spread of different delicious sides such as tempeh (fermented bean). The Nasi Goreng was tasty and topped with keropok (prawn crackers).

At first glance, FOMO might look like a typical coffee shop from the outside, but step inside and prepare to be amazed by their menu. This place offers a delightful mix of unique dishes and familiar favorites that will leave you wanting more. One standout dish that I tried was their "bubur ayam," a famous Indonesian dish especially popular during winter. It blew my mind! The flavor was incredibly delicious, fresh, and light—perfect for those who prefer a meal that's not too heavy. In addition to their extraordinary offerings, FOMO also serves a selection of classic Australian cafe items like smashed avo on toast. It's the perfect blend of the exotic and the familiar, catering to a wide range of tastes. Highly recommended!

It was a pleasant surprise to find out about this cafe in the corner - they make the best coffee in the area! Very friendly staff. Food is also really nice, tried all of their Indonesian menu and truffle pasta, and they didn’t disappoint.
